A NinjaTrader 8 strategy for MNQ. Every setup moves through the same five phases on one dashboard, and the risk rules are enforced in code rather than left to your discipline.
Nothing fires on a hunch. A setup has to earn its way forward one phase at a time, and you can see where each of the six sits without reading the chart.
Conditions aren't there. The setup is idle and nothing is working.
Structure is forming. The setup is tracking it but won't act yet.
Conditions are met. It's now waiting only for its trigger.
The trigger is live for a limited time. Miss it and the setup resets.
Filled. Stop and targets are placed, and the locks take over.
Time-boxed range breaks. Each builds a range between two New York times, then takes the break at its entry time — inside an entry window measured in seconds, with a late-entry cutoff so a slow fill never turns into a different trade. S1 can hard-exit before S2 opens.
Threshold breaks. Each has its own point threshold, contract size, direction filters and an optional inversion, so a setup can be run the other way without touching the others.
Builds the overnight range, then hunts a break of it inside a set window with a tick buffer. If the range comes in too small or too wide it skips the night entirely rather than forcing a trade.
Most evaluation accounts don't die from bad entries. They die from one trade that was allowed to run past the point where it should have been closed.
Set the figure in dollars. The dashboard shows how much of it you've used as a bar, and there's a force-flat time that closes everything whether or not you're watching.
Each lock has a trigger and an amount to secure, both in dollars. Pass the trigger and that much is held behind a raised stop. A minimum buffer and a maximum spread stop the locks firing into a thin book.
Move to breakeven plus a set amount once a trade clears its trigger, then trail at a fixed dollar distance. Stops only move protectively, never back.
Set the maximum and the counter on the dashboard tells you where you are. Once it's reached, nothing else opens.
Every stop, target, lock and limit is entered as a dollar figure. That's the same unit your firm measures you in, so nothing has to be converted in your head.
MNQ only, with a stop-change guard that ignores jittery modifications. Arm, pause, disarm and flat-now are always one click away.
It's a single file. There's nothing to copy into other folders and no separate indicator package.
Drop FlatToFunded.cs into Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Strategies. If NinjaTrader is already open, restart it — that folder is only scanned at startup.
Open the NinjaScript Editor and press F5. Give it a few seconds the first time. FlatToFunded then appears in the strategy list on any chart.
Paste the key into the strategy's settings. It's remembered for the whole machine, so new charts and the Strategy Analyzer won't ask again.
Watch a full session on the simulator before you put it near a funded account. You want to recognise the phases before they cost you anything.
From the Strategy Analyzer, with commission included and every trade counted — winners and losers.
Backtest, not a live account · 4–8 September 2026 · MNQ · 10 contracts · 13 trades · $247 commission included
Thirteen trades across three sessions is a sample, not a track record. Treat these figures as an illustration of how the strategy behaves, not as an expected return.
Your key is bound to the first computer that activates it. Copying the file to a second machine won't work, so a key you buy stays yours.
